It's that time of the year again! Time to celebrate our Business Development, Man of the Year, and Woman of the Year honorees over delicious BBQ and an all-around good time with great company!
On Thursday, February 15th, Fire Stations 38 & 49 in Wilmington were the first to respond to a compressed natural gas truck fire in the 1100 block of Alameda Street in East Wilmington when one of the vehicle's two 100-gallon CNG fuel tanks exploded.

Nine firefighters were injured. Two firefighters were in critical condition with one of them being airlifted to a burn center for specialty care. The other seven were released from the hospital. Their injuries include burns, injuries from flying shrapnel and what the LAFD described as effects to their hearing.

At the time of the accident, the Council office received several calls from the community asking what they could do to help. Here is your answer!

Council District 15 is hosting a community BBQ in support of the firefighters of Stations 38 & 49.

Please join us this Saturday, April 6th from 11am to 4pm at the Wilmington Town Square for food, music, games and raffles. Lunch will only be $12!

All the communities in the ONE-FIVE and beyond are invited to join us to show our support for these first responders for what they do each and every day for our safety.
